Download this file (UPDATED TO 0.04 on 9/29/2010):
http://rapidshare.com/files/422064841/fixcruzreader-0.04.exe
and run it.
This will start a script that will guide you through the installation of Android Market, Gmail, Maps, etc.
After the first screen, please plug in your Cruz Reader to a USB port of your PC. Try to navigate to the usb_driver directory within the FixCruzReader directory and select it. This will install the USB driver used to install the GoogleApps on the Cruz.
Seems to work fine. Tried it on my Cruz reader.

ReplyDeleteSame as SoCal Okie... I'm stuck at the Touch the android...
ReplyDeletetouch the four corners of the screen starting upper left and click in a clockwise pattern. I was stuck at this for an hour until my friend
ReplyDeleteGoogle saved me
I'm also stuck on the Tap The Android To Begin screen, and tapping the four corners is not working either. I'm using the Cruz Reader Micro Velocity
ReplyDeleteWow...worked like a charm it seems (at least it started up easily enough). Can't check out the Market until I get wi-fi up and I can't get to my key at this moment. Love it so far though.
ReplyDeleteCycologist, I have a cruz tablet, and ran the scripts above, now the tablet is locked on the second cruz screen, it will not do anything. I have tried the reset button, holding volume while cycling the on button, nothing works, it will shut off, but when powered back on it stops at the same point.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this has been covered but, for those of you having problems with drivers for the Cruz, I found the drivers on the Velocity Micro website. If they haven't pulled them down then the drivers will be found in the support section. Remember that you have to install the drivers manually. Don't rely on Windows to do it for you. Once you are in the device manager, you will need to choose the device and update the driver but choose the manual installation of the driver. You will have to go through the list and select the device you want to install a driver for and select "Have Disk" then use the .inf file to install the driver. Any issues let me know. Hope this helps.
